Stat Leaders in JAL XI

Here are the leaders in JAL XI for a few important statistical categories the league keeps track of. Keep in mind that because of the playing conditions JAL XI was one of the sloppiest tournaments, if not the sloppiest tournament, in league history.

OBP (On Base Percentage): Lawnball only allows 1 pitch in a at-bat, pitchers throw from a relatively close 40 feet away, and hitters use the traditional 'skinny yellow bat.' Because of all this, OBP is probably the most important offensive stat. The stat is measured by dividing the number of times the player got on base (either by getting a hit or getting walked) by their total plate appearances. Here were the top 10 in JAL XI....

1. Adam Clark (.605) - Cobras

2. Luke Rahn (.571) - Cobras

3. Ty Franklin (.528) - Bison

4. Jacob Rahn (.524) - Fog

5. Mikel Skreen (.486) - Bison

6 Stephen Todd (.477) - Lynx

7. Ty Johnson (.463) - Rapids

8. Mason Klingberg (.459) - underdogs

9. Darren Ayoub (.453) - Fog

10. Josh Wall (.405) - underdogs

ERA (Earned Run Average): This is the most important defensive stat. ERA means the average number of runs a pitcher gives up in a game. Here's the ERA of all 8 players who pitched in JAL XI....

1. Jordan Halverson (2.17) - Lynx

2. Ty Johnson (2.18) - Rapids

3. James French (2.94) - Bison

4. Jacob Rahn (3.00) - Fog

5. Adam Clarck (4.73) - Cobras

6. Josh Wall (7.50) - underdogs

7. Mason Klingberg (11.80) - underdogs

8. Ty Franklin (20.00) - Bison

(K vs BB) Stikeout vs Walk Ratio: The 1 pitch per at-bat rule puts a lot of pressure into every play. Here's the ratios of all 8 players who pitched in JAL XI....

1. Jordan Halverson (65 K's - 25 BB's = 72% of pitches were K's) - Lynx

2. Ty Johnson (42 K's - 29 BB's = 59% of pitches were K's) - Rapids

3. James French (42 K's - 34 BB's = 55% of pitches were K's) - Bison

4. Jacob Rahn (68 K's - 57 BB's = 54% of pitches were K's) - Fog

5. Adam Clark (57 K's - 64 BB's = 47% of pitches were K's) - Cobras

6. Josh Wall (10 K's - 12 BB's = 45% of pitches were K's) - underdogs

7. Mason Klingberd (24 K's - 38 BB's = 39% of pitches were K's) - underdogs

8. Ty Franklin (6 K's - 14 BB's = 30% of pitches were K's) - Bison
