Waves Sign Shawn Godinho

Writer: JALJAL

Less than 24 hours after being released by the Cobras, veteran batter/fielder/pitcher Shawn Godinho already has a new home - the West Coast Waves. He and the team have inked a $15/2-season deal.

In order to sign Shawn the Waves owner, Anthony Nusbaum, had to clear space off the playing roster and did so by releasing himself. Nusbaum says negotiations with Godinho began immediately after news broke of his releasement last night and were finalized this morning.

"They (Cobras) defiantly made a mistake letting him go," said Nusbaum. "They should be worried, we're coming for them (in the National Conference)."

Nusbaum says Godinho will bat for the team, and defensively will be their #2 pitcher and fielder. Already the Waves were one of the oldest teams in terms of experience, but with Shawn Godinho the team now has an average "seasons of experience" number of 4.6 per player, the 2nd highest in the league. Joining the Waves will be Shawn's 4th stop of his career. Previously he had played with the Rapids and Express before the Cobras. His new deal with the Waves is the 5th contract of his career.

Despite the signing the Waves remain ranked 5th in the Power Rankings.
