The JAL 23 regular season has concluded which means some of the best individual total stats from the season can now take their places among the greatest of all time in the league record books (new entries highlighted). As can be seen below, LOTS of finishing numbers made the top 10 in every batting and fielding category. Some players even set new No. 1 records. There were a few great pitching performances, but JAL 23 will always be remembered as the season the pendulum of power — which had been slowly shifting away from pitchers and toward batters the last couple seasons — finally broke free and swung hard in favor of batters. Overall, league average finished at .314, smashing the previous record set in JAL 21 of .260. There's no longer any doubt left that the JAL has fully evolved into a "batters league" and as result, fielding is also playing a MUCH MORE prominent role than before.
